Mo'orea offers us a preserved environment and breathtaking panorama, it would be a shame not to enjoy it, right?!
But in addition to enjoying a beautiful view, outdoor yoga has many benefits: let’s discover a small "panorama".
Enjoy fresh air
Breathing is an essential part of the yoga practice.
Pranayama, breathing exercises, take on even more meaning during a session outdoors at Mo'orea: you enjoy the fresh air of the seaside, full of oxygen and prana, this vital energy that maintains and controls the body.
André Van Lysebeth compares prana to electricity: "this electric energy that we happen to forget, except in case of power failure! To ignore or ignore the existence of prana, its action on our organism, the way to store it, to direct it at will, is to ignore true yoga"
Soak up the surrounding energy
Prana refers to the universal energy that circulates everywhere and in everything, but even more in open and "ionized" places like...the sea!
André Van Lysebeth says "huge quantities of vitalizing ions are produced by large bodies of water in motion or evaporating: that is why the air is so vitalizing at the seaside!"
The outdoor sessions, in the middle of the Pacific, are therefore an opportunity to take a "ion bath" regenerating while enjoying the breathtaking panorama that Mo'orea offers us!
Putting your concentration to the test
Mo'orea offers us exceptional "studios", but enjoying the fresh air and an exceptional panorama can sometimes require some efforts of concentration
The changing weather, invasive insects, locals and tourists with whom we share spaces; distractions can be many but all these variables are excellent exercises to improve our dharana, our ability to concentrate.
You will sometimes be disturbed, sometimes amused. Because you see, feel or hear... but it is often at the end of the session, slowly emerging from your bubble that you realize all the agitation that surrounded you!
Find balance
In every sense of the word!
Outdoor sessions allow us to develop a good balance between concentration, being aware of yourself and being open to what is around you to make the best of it.
Sand, sloping terrain, small pebbles under the carpet; uneven soils that we reach develop our ability to find stability in varied conditions. The wind sometimes adds to the equation to make postures even more challenging! The practice of yoga is well-known: it is a practice, a continuous training. It is therefore normal, and healthy, to be in trouble sometimes, to exceed your comfort zone; the pleasure is only greater when you find balance!
You see that outdoor practices offers numerous benefits, and with the stunning the sublime setting that moorea offers us, it would be a shame not to enjoy it !
