What is Pilates?

Pilates is a gentle but intense exercise that combines deep breathing with physical exercises.

It was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates during his detention in the First World War, to allow soldiers bedridden to continue moving and begin rehabilitation. After his exile in the USA, Joseph Pilates perfected his method and opened a first studio in New York.

His method, then called "contrology" was first acclaimed by dancers, circaciens and other performers. Nowadays, pilates has become much more popular and popular: it is now practiced by a wide range of people, and is recommended for people suffering from back pain.

Cindy teaches the "matwork" exercises, that is to say practiced on the ground on a simple carpet. Often focused on abdominal work and stabilization of the pelvis, these exercises allow to develop a better awareness of his body, a deep and harmonious musculature, without sudden gestures. They can be decorated with many accessories: magic circle, elastic, balloons,...

This method is for everyone; from high level athletes to the person who wants to muscle gently!

Without ever being out of breath, you strengthen your deep muscles, improve your posture and joint mobility.
